October 16, 2026, Friday, 7 PM: Come and spend “An Evening with Louisa May Alcott,” author of Little Women. She will tell you stories of her family, life, writing career, and share some of her literary works. Step back in time with historical re-enactor Denise Wright while she brings the author to life through pictures, words, and stories. Held at Schodack Town Hall, 265 Schuurman Road, Castleton, NY.

November 20, 2026, Friday, 7 PM: Speaker Thomas Kernan endeavors to illustrate the development of “The Holiday of Christmas,” including the foods, decorations, traditions, myths, various gift givers, and even conflicting philosophies of those who celebrate and those opposed to celebrating the holiday over the years. Held at Schodack Town Hall, 265 Schuurman Road, Castleton, NY.

February 19, 2027 at 7PM: Our speaker will be Joanna Case, who will present a program on “The Palatines and Their Journey to Colonial New York.” She will discuss why they left their homelands, the challenges they faced along the way, and their search for land and community in New York. Held at Schodack Town Hall, 265 Schuurman Road, Castleton, NY.

March 19, 2027 at 7PM: Our speaker, Ron Gabrielle, will speak on “The History of Old-Time Radio.” Take a trip back to the golden age of radio and discover the history of the medium that brought entertainment, news, and stories into homes across America.

Members only! April 23, 2027: Our Annual Meeting and full turkey dinner with homemade pies for dessert. Our speaker will be Chris Peter, presenting a collection of “Early Village of Castleton Photographs to Celebrate 200 Years of Village History.” Members, be on the lookout for a mailing with more info and a way to purchase tickets as we get closer to the event.
